Our efforts are expected to help strengthen the banking sector: Managing Director Dhungel

Kathmandu – Managing Director of Banking News Raju Dhungel has said that he expects the Banking Discourse to play an effective role in strengthening the banking sector. Dhungel, while giving a welcome speech at the ‘Banking Discourse 2024’, said that he hoped that the Banking Discourse would help in finding the multifaceted scenario of the banking sector in Nepal by highlighting the global multifaceted aspects of the banking sector.

Director Dhungel said, “This program aims to explore the multifaceted scenario of the banking sector in Nepal by highlighting the global multifaceted aspects of the banking sector. First of all, while Nepal is on the path of economic revolution after a major political change, it is clear that Nepal has been badly affected by the global economic recession after the covid-19. I would also like to make a request that we hope that this small effort of ours will strengthen the banking sector and help the country’s economy.

Giving his welcome speech, Dhungel said:

Hello, I am Raju DhungelThe chief guest of the program was Mr. Mahaprasad Adhikari, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, special guest Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsinaju, Senior Deputy Governor, Nepal Rashtra Bank, Mr. Sunil K.C.Jew, President, Nepal Bankers Association, Suyog Shrestha, Development Bankers Association of Nepal, Mr. Sunil Pantajju, President, Nepal Financial Institution-Association. I would like to express my gratitude for accepting the invitation and welcoming everyone.

First of all, Banking News.com, established in 2016, has been broadcasting unbiased news on all issues in the banking, insurance, financial and economic sectors of Nepal. Banking News.com is continuously dedicated to inform its readers and listeners about all the current financial and economic activities across Nepal. I would like to introduce this National Banking Discourse 2024 as a product of the discussion by the editorial board of Banking News on the issue that the issues of various fields should not be presented on the surface but should be discussed with the relevant parties and the right suggestions should be made at the level of policy making.
Banking News.com has already started doing insurance discourse and banking discourse in the past. While preparing to organize the Merchant Discourse, the government has not been able to appoint the Chairman of the Securities Board for the past one year, so I would like to express my commitment to hold the Merchant Discourse as soon as the Executive Chairman is appointed. As a continuation of the program of the above-mentioned platform firm, I feel proud to organize the second National Banking Discourse 2024 (National Banking Discourse 2024) program at this place today and also want to express my commitment to be more responsible.
This program aims to explore the multifaceted scenario of the banking sector in Nepal by highlighting the global multifaceted aspects of the banking sector. First of all, while Nepal is on the path of economic revolution after a major political change, it is known that Nepal has been badly affected by the global economic recession after Covid-19. I would also like to make a request that we hope that this small effort of ours will strengthen the banking sector and help the country’s economy.
What is the human resource situation and expected manpower needs in Nepal’s banking sector? The Chief Learning Officer of Emirates Institute of Finance, Dr. I also want to inform you that Allen Baby was invited to share ideas about talent strategy. I think this is a good use for the banking sector. Due to the participation of experts from neighboring countries India and both in the second National Banking Discourse, we feel more responsible for encouraging us to hold the next discourse at the international level.

Now in today’s program we will mainly discuss in 5 sessions. Topics of discussion:

Session-1
Expected Monetary Policy role: Prevalent issues of the Banking Industry:

In the current perspective in Nepal, the problems in the banking sector, the financial laxity and the role of monetary policy remain and should be? Cash parking has to be done at Rashtra Bank. Discussion will be focused on etc.

Session-2
Social Impact & Financial Literacy Situation in Nepal:

The team of Banking News has been conducting various literacy programs on financial literacy for the past few years. Jasma has also been conducting financial literacy programs for children, women and the police. Apart from this, we have also produced and broadcast various awareness video content. Apart from this, Rashtra Bank and other banks have also been conducting such programs. However, despite this, due to the lack of financial literacy or the lack of efficiency, there are incidents ranging from chaotic activities to attacks on banks and financial institutions. I would like to draw the attention of Rashtra Bank Governor Honorable Mahaprasad Adhikari to the issue of making literacy effective by increasing social responsibility i.e. CSR budget by 5 percent. Similarly, I would like to draw attention to the need to conduct a literacy campaign about climate finance.

Session – 3
Harnessing Remittances for Socioeconomic Development:

The main contributor to our country’s economy is the remittance sector. Today, while we are happy when remittances come, I also want to question the governor about what policies should be adopted by the National Bank and the Foreign Employment Board to boost the remittance industry. I would like to draw the attention of the governor about what can be done to make the size of the remittance industry more organized and productive by sending qualified manpower abroad. I would like to comment that the provision of 150,000 as support loan to those who go for foreign employment is also positive.

Session – 4
Cross Border Digital Payment Challenges & Nepal’s Digital Ecosystem:

First of all, when I went to the Global Fintech Festival in September last year, I also participated as a journalist. Where Mr. Mahaprasad Adhikari, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, started the cross-border. When tourists from the neighboring country of India come to visit Nepal, the payment process has started. When will we be able to pay using QR code when we go to India? I also want to ask the governor.

Session – 5
In this way, Dr. in a creative style. Believing that Allen Baby will provide creativity in the banking sector by sharing ideas about talent strategy, finally, I would like to request the Governor to provide time to submit the report with the official approval of this program between 16th and 18th. thank you
