Kathmandu – CPN-UML Vice President and former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey has said that monetary policy is not the only concern of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Speaking in the first session of the Banking Discourse, ‘Expectations of the upcoming monetary policy in the current situation of the banking sector’, Pandey said that since the Rashtra Bank runs under the government, the entire government has a role to play in the monetary policy. He said, ‘Monetary policy is not the sole responsibility of the National Bank. It is under the Ministry of Finance, Minister of Finance. It does not mean that the National Bank will not obey what the government says.
