Attention should be paid not only to remittances but also to the safety of workers: Executive Director Paudel


Kathmandu – Guru Prasad Poudel, Executive Director of Banks and Financial Institutions Regulation Department of Nepal Rastra Bank, has said that along with remittances, the safety of workers should also be given priority. While responding to the question raised in the third session of the Second National Banking Discourse 2024, “Sustainable usefulness of remittances for socio-economic development and future guidelines”, Executive Director Poudel said that the government’s priority should be remittances as well as the safety of workers.

He said, “Although the government has given labor permits to 110 countries, remittances are currently being imported from around 170 countries. As a result, the safety of workers and labor acceptance are also being questioned. Along with Remintas, the safety of workers should also be prioritized.

In the third session of the discourse, ‘Sustainable usefulness of remittances for socio-economic development and future guidelines’, Executive Director of Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation Department of Nepal Rastra Bank Guru Prasad Paudel, Demographic Data Expert Chetan Adhikari, Executive Director of Foreign Employment Board Dharika Upreti, Deputy Executive Officer (DCEO) Suman Pokharel is the Deputy Executive Officer (DCEO) of Global IME Bank.
