National Development Banks Report Significant Profits in Last Fiscal Year

Kathmandu – In the last fiscal year 2080/81, the eight national-level development banks currently operating earned a profit of Rs. 5.55 billion 6.873 thousand. This is 9.39 percent more than the previous financial year, during which development banks earned a profit of Rs. 5.797 billion 48 thousand.

Muktinath Bikas Bank emerged as the highest earner, with a profit of Rs. 1 billion 27 crore 91 lakh 34 thousand by the end of June last financial year, marking a 2.48 percent increase compared to the previous year when the bank earned Rs. 1 billion 248 million.

During the same period, Shangrila Development Bank’s profit soared by 92.47 percent to Rs. 524 million, up from Rs. 270.4 million the previous year. Lumbini Development Bank’s profit increased by 21.32 percent to Rs. 603.37 million, and Kamana Seva Development Bank’s profit surged by 66.93 percent to Rs. 603.32 million.

Similarly, Mahalakshmi Development Bank earned a profit of Rs. 470.1 million, Shain Resunga Development Bank made Rs. 697.4 million, Garima Development Bank reported a profit of Rs. 1.13 billion, and Jyoti Development Bank earned Rs. 246.5 million.
