Kathmandu – All Ncell mobile numbers and customers can receive information and notifications on their mobiles via any short code, one-time passwords (OTP), SMS, and other messages sent by service providers.
“There are no issues with application-to-person (ATP) message or notification delivery across any of our number ranges,” said Umer Mohsin, Chief Commercial Officer of Ncell. “The growing volume of ATP messages each year is a positive indicator of digitization, showing that our customers are always connected.”
In the current landscape, where the use of various digital services is increasing, customers regularly receive ATP messages, such as OTPs, SMS, and other notifications. These messages are sent by government and semi-government agencies, banks and financial institutions, private sector organizations offering various services, and global platforms like Google and Facebook.
“There is no problem with ATP message or notification delivery in any of our number ranges. The year-on-year growth in ATP message flow is a positive sign of digitization, demonstrating that our customers are always connected,” added Mohsin.
“Initially, there were some challenges with the 970 number range, but we have resolved these issues promptly in collaboration with major service providers. For instance, Ncell customers are now receiving OTPs from the Internal Revenue Office, Nepal Electricity Authority, banks and financial institutions, and various social networks.”
Addressing the misconception that SMS, OTPs, and notifications are not received on Ncell numbers, the company clarified that all Ncell numbers are eligible to receive such information and notifications, both domestically and while roaming abroad. Ncell has also urged short-code operators and service providers to include Ncell’s new 970 number range in their systems. The company has been issuing mobile numbers in this new range since last year as part of its plan to further expand services for its customers.
