In Dhulikhel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli officially launched Nepal’s first-ever ‘Hydrogen Car’ and its accompanying refueling system at Kathmandu University. This event took place prior to the university’s 29th convocation ceremony.
The hydrogen-powered vehicle, manufactured by Hyundai in South Korea, was acquired by Kathmandu University with support from Nepal Oil Corporation for $33,000. This initiative marks a significant step towards sustainable energy and reducing carbon emissions in Nepal.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the adoption of hydrogen technology will play a crucial role in lowering carbon emissions and combating pollution. The refueling system, which was officially inaugurated by Oli today, had already been operational since Chait 2080, or approximately six months prior.
Oli expressed his enthusiasm for the project, re-inaugurating the refueling system during the ceremony, further highlighting the significance of this technological advancement in the country’s efforts to promote clean energy.
