Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is planning to introduce PayPal to facilitate cross-border payments, following the integration of India’s UPI payment gateway with Nepal’s financial systems. Fonepay and Standard Chartered Bank are competing to facilitate PayPal’s entry into Nepal. NRB plans to introduce PayPal through a Nepali financial partner, overseeing transactions in a manner similar to how dollar cards or Visa cards are governed in Nepal.
