Kathmandu – Nikesh Khatri, News Chief of Banking Samachar & Banking News, has been elected as the General Secretary of Nepal Association of Financial Journalists –NAFIJ.
He elected as a general secretary during the annual general meeting and election program of NAFIJ. Previously serving as a central committee member, Khatri secured victory over his competitor Naveen Dhungana with a significant margin. Khatri received 112 votes, while Dhungana received 66 votes.
Khatri has been actively involved in economic and financial journalism for more than a decade. Currently, he serves as the News Chief at Banking Samachar and has gained extensive experience working in leading financial media outlets of Nepal.
The newly elected leadership is expected to play an important role in strengthening financial journalism and professional integrity in Nepal.
In the same election, Menuka Karki elected as President, while Niroj Kumar Thapa & Pitambari Khatiwada (Pramila) elected Vice president, Rajaram Neupane elected as secretary & Milan B K as Treasurer. Anish Mijar, Chitra Raj Bhandari (CR), Anup Acharya, and Shukra Giri were elected as central committee members.
Previously, he has worked in media outlets such as New Business Age, Aarthik Abhiyan Daily and Ratopati.
