Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli claimed that the current coalition government was established to end political instability and guide the nation from degeneration to prosperity. Speaking at the 21st National Jyapu Day organized by the Jyapu Culture Development Fund at Basantapur on Sunday, PM Oli emphasized that this government was formed through the cooperation of major political parties to counter misinformation and prevent the derailment of the country’s political transformation.

“This government is not just about forming a government; it is about advancing the nation’s journey toward stability and prosperity,” PM Oli stated. He argued that despite the challenges, the government is committed to ensuring sustainable development.

Addressing controversies, he remarked, “When we proposed laws to protect Guthi, there were deliberate attempts to spread misinformation and attack us. Even when we suggested resolving corruption cases within five years instead of dragging them for 20 years, it was falsely portrayed as protecting the corrupt. Such baseless rumors are aimed at creating chaos in Nepal.”

PM Oli also underlined the importance of promoting social harmony, saying, “We aim to foster national unity through social harmony, not divisive ideologies. We do not reject any community or discriminate against any ethnicity. Our mission is to build a new Nepal free from poverty and ensure a prosperous and happy future.”

He called for collective efforts to build a civilized and united society, ensuring that future generations are spared the hardships endured by the present. PM Oli urged for respectful dialogue on social platforms and emphasized preserving Nepal’s unity and identity.

Recognizing Newar Culture

PM Oli highlighted the significance of Newar culture, stating that it holds a unique place in history with its continuity and originality. He expressed his wishes for the continued advancement of Jyapu culture and acknowledged the contribution of Newar traditions to enhancing Nepal’s global reputation.

Despite limited resources, the government has allocated NPR 1 million to support the National Jyapu Day celebration, and PM Oli pledged to increase the endowment fund for Jyapu Guthi. He assured government support for promoting Nepal’s religious and cultural heritage.

During the program, PM Oli distributed awards and honors and inaugurated digital content and publications related to annual Newar festivals. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Bagmati Province’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Cooperatives Bimal Thakuri, Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, and other dignitaries.
