Kathmandu – An arrest warrant has been issued against Anjala Koirala, the wife of Public Accounts Committee Chairman Rishikesh Pokharel, in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

The Morang District Court issued the arrest warrant on Tuesday against Anjala Koirala and 25 others for their alleged involvement in embezzling funds from Umagauri Cooperative, located in Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-3 of Morang.

Among the 26 accused in the case, Roshan Rajbanshi is currently in custody awaiting trial. According to the charges, a total of NPR 224.8 million (approximately 22 crore 48 lakh) was embezzled from the cooperative.
