Kathmandu – Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is set to face suspension from his position as a Member of Parliament. According to the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2008 (Amended), Lamichhane’s position will be automatically suspended under Section 27 of the Act.

The provision states:
“Any official, employee, or public servant of an established organization under prevailing laws shall be deemed automatically suspended during the period of detention and until the resolution of the case filed under Section 22 of this Act.”
