Banking News – Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced its plan to incorporate financial education into the school curriculum. Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari made this statement while inaugurating the Global Money Week program organized by the central bank. He emphasized that financial literacy is crucial for students and that efforts are underway to include it in the academic syllabus.
Governor Adhikari also noted that Global Money Week would help keep bank accounts active. “This initiative enhances financial knowledge, ensuring individual financial security, which ultimately benefits the nation as a whole,” he stated. “We have already held discussions with the Curriculum Development Center to integrate financial education into the school syllabus.”
Highlighting the importance of financial management, he urged individuals to be mindful of their budgets and spend according to their capacity. He also stressed the need for proper understanding when taking loans, as banks offer various financial products.
Governor Adhikari further remarked on the growing adoption of digital payments, affirming that NRB has prioritized this sector. “Negligence in digital transactions can lead to financial losses, so we must exercise caution to safeguard our money,” he cautioned.
