RPP Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum for Release of Rabindra Mishra and Dhawal Shumsher

Banking News – The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the government, demanding the immediate release of its Senior Vice President Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana.

Announcing the decisions of the party’s Central Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden warned that failure to release them within the stipulated time would lead to nationwide protests, escalating into a broader movement.

Government Blamed for Violence in Tripureshwor Demonstration

The meeting also concluded that the government was responsible for the violent turn of the pro-monarchy demonstration in Tripureshwor. Several party leaders expressed solidarity with Mishra and Rana, stating that while there was no emotional outburst in the meeting, there was a strong consensus to push for their release.

“If they had not been arrested, there would have been more questions raised,” a leader suggesting that RPP leaders feel the party is losing its grip on the pro-monarchy movement.

Demand for Martyr Status and Government Accountability

The party has also demanded that the two individuals who lost their lives in Friday’s incident at Tripureshwor be declared martyrs.

“We have asked the government to recognize both deceased individuals as martyrs,” Lingden stated while making the meeting’s decisions public.

The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old Sabin Maharjan from Kirtipur and Avenues Television journalist Suresh Rajak.

Holding the government accountable for the tragic incident, Lingden accused the administration of deliberately instigating the violence. “What happened yesterday was planned by the government itself,” he alleged, emphasizing that state suppression was a key factor behind the escalation.

The RPP now stands firm in its demand for justice and warns of intensified protests if the government fails to comply.
