Kathmandu – Bam Bahadur Mishra, Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, is set to participate as a key speaker in the special session of the Third Banking Discourse 2025, to be held on 22 Jestha (June 4, 2025). The event is organized by Bankingkhabar.com.

A native of Panchthar, Mishra holds a background in Physics from Amrit Science Campus. His early professional life was marked by humble beginnings – working as a newspaper distributor and a schoolteacher. His banking career started at Nepal Arab Bank (now Nabil Bank) while he was still teaching.

Later, while pursuing his MBA, Mishra also worked at NIC Asia Bank. During this period, he seized the opportunity to enter Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). At the central bank, he has held several key positions, including in the Birgunj regional office, Financial Institutions Supervision Department, and Foreign Exchange Department.

Notably, Mishra has served as the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Department and the Head of the Foreign Exchange Department, reflecting his extensive experience in both operational and regulatory aspects of Nepal’s financial system.

The Third National Banking Discourse 2025 will be inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel and hosted at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. The event includes an inaugural session, four thematic panel discussions, and one special session.
