Kathmandu – Santosh Koirala, President of the Nepal Bankers’ Association and CEO of Machhapuchchhre Bank, is confirmed to participate in the inaugural session of the Third National Banking Discourse 2025, to be held on Jestha 22 (June 4). The national-level discourse is being organized by Bankingkhabar.com.

Born and raised in Bhojpur Municipality, Koirala completed his SLC in 2045 BS from Birendra Secondary School, Chandragadhi-6, Jhapa. Initially aspiring to become an engineer, his career path shifted toward commerce, leading him to pursue BCom from Mechi Multiple Campus and later an MBA under Tribhuvan University via private studies.

He began his banking career at Bank of Kathmandu and gained 13 years of experience at Sanima Bank. Subsequently, he joined Machhapuchchhre Bank, where he rose from Senior Manager to CEO, serving as DCEO for two years before becoming the Chief Executive Officer. Currently serving his second term as CEO, Koirala also leads the Nepal Bankers’ Association, the umbrella body of commercial banks in Nepal.

The Banking Discourse 2025 will be inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. The inaugural session will include participation from leaders of the central bank, private sector, and executives from commercial and development banks.
