Agricultural and Forestry University’s budget of Rs 1.68 billion approved


KATHMANDU, July 15: The 14th senate meeting of the Chitwan-based Agriculture and Forestry University has endorsed a budget of Rs 1.68 billion for the coming fiscal year 2025/26. 

The Senate meeting, presided over by Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University KP Sharma Oli, at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday, approved the university’s proposed budget and annual programs. 

The university’s registrar, Professor Dr. Pushkar Bahadur Pal, presented both the budget and proposed programs for the senate’s consideration. During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sharada Thapaliya emphasized the university’s initiatives aimed at ensuring quality in teaching, learning activities, research, examination systems, and the establishment of a business incubation center.

Senate meetings at all universities and health academies across the country have been convened on short notice following an instruction from Chancellor PM Oli. He has directed that all proposed budgets and programs be approved in these meetings before the beginning of the new fiscal year on July 17.

On Tuesday alone, senate meetings of four universities and health academies were held, while two sessions are scheduled for next Wednesday.
