IME Pay and Khalti Merge Operations Under Unified Brand ‘Khalti by IME’

KATHMANDU – Nepal’s two prominent digital wallets, IME Pay and Khalti, have officially commenced joint operations under a new unified brand name — “Khalti by IME” — starting today.

According to the companies, the merger has integrated their services into a single app, now serving a combined user base of over 12.7 million customers.

The newly formed company, IME Khalti Limited, now boasts a paid-up capital exceeding NPR 540 million, making it the largest digital wallet in Nepal both in terms of capital and customer base.

Both IME Pay and Khalti have been independently providing digital payment services for nearly a decade. With this strategic merger, the two fintech giants aim to enhance service delivery, innovation, and digital financial inclusion across the country.

The unification is seen as a significant step toward consolidating Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem and strengthening competitiveness in the rapidly evolving fintech sector.
