Banking News – Dipesh Karki from Biratnagar has been selected in Onlinekhabar.com’s prestigious “40 Under 40” list, recognizing influential young Nepalis. Karki, co-founder of India’s peer-to-peer lending platform Lenden Club, was honored on August 12, coinciding with International Youth Day.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced the names of the 40 awardees and presented the honors at a special ceremony held in Kathmandu.
Born and raised in Biratnagar, Karki co-founded Lenden Club in India alongside Bhavin Patel in 2015. The platform currently facilitates transactions worth over INR 4.5 billion (NPR 7.2 billion) per month.
Karki completed his schooling up to grade 12 in Biratnagar before pursuing higher studies in India under an Indian Embassy scholarship. In 2007, he joined the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Haryana to study engineering. After graduating, he worked in India from 2011 to 2012, returned to Nepal in search of opportunities, but later moved back to India, where he built his career as a successful entrepreneur.
He is among 40 young Nepalis selected by Onlinekhabar from diverse sectors, including politics, society, arts and literature, culture, youth and sports, science and technology, entrepreneurship, and the diaspora.
