Kathmandu – Renowned journalist Tikaram Yatri is set to moderate one of the sessions at the Third Insurance Discourse 2026. The event, jointly organized by Banking Samachar and News of Insurance, will be held on Magh 7. Among the four sessions scheduled for the discourse, Yatri will serve as the moderator of the first session.

He will facilitate the session titled “Bancassurance: Policy, Regulation, and Market Reality.” Panelists for the discussion include Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Guru Paudel, Director of the Nepal Insurance Authority Nirmal Adhikari, Chief Executive Officer of NIC Asia Bank Sujit Shakya, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Nepal Life Insurance Rajkumar Aryal, and General Manager of MetLife Nepal Nirmal Kaji Shrestha.

Widely recognized as a popular media presenter in recent years, Yatri has spent over two decades working across radio, television, and other mass media platforms. He is currently leading and hosting the program “Kathghara” and had previously hosted “Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya.”

Born in Gauradaha, Jhapa, Yatri is a former Editor-in-Chief of AP1 HD Television. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and has a strong interest in world politics, economics, and Eastern philosophy. In 2018, he was honored with the World Youth Peace Award.

The Insurance Discourse will be held on Magh 7, 2082, at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu. The event will bring together representatives from regulatory bodies, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, insurance experts, and other distinguished stakeholders. Key discussion topics will include bancassurance policy and market realities, access to healthcare and the future of health insurance in Nepal, insurtech innovation and integrating insurance into everyday lifestyles, and the roadmap for restructuring and transforming the insurance industry for modern living.

In addition, a special session titled “Economics of Insurance” will be held, featuring the participation of Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha.
