Kathmandu – Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Guru Prasad Paudel, is set to participate as a speaker in the first session of the Third Insurance Discourse 2026. The event is being jointly organized by Banking Samachar and News of Insurance and will be held on Magh 7.

Paudel will speak in the session titled “When Will Bancassurance Open? Policy, Regulation, and Market Reality.” He brings over two decades of experience at Nepal Rastra Bank, having joined the central bank in 2002 as an Assistant Director. Over his 21-year career, he has held responsibilities across various departments and is currently serving as the official spokesperson of NRB.

Paudel holds an MPhil in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Tribhuvan University. To further enhance his professional expertise, he has participated in numerous international training programs and seminars.

The Third Insurance Discourse, organized by Banking Samachar with Reliable Nepal Life as the Title Sponsor, will be held on Magh 7 at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu. The event is powered by Fonepay, Sun Nepal Life, and SuryaJyoti Life. Representatives from regulatory bodies, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, insurance experts, and other stakeholders are expected to attend.

Key discussion topics will include bancassurance: policy, regulation, and market realities; access to healthcare and the future of health insurance in Nepal; insurtech innovation and integrating insurance into daily lifestyles; and the roadmap for restructuring and transforming the insurance industry for modern living. A special session titled “Economics of Insurance” will also be held, featuring Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha.
