Kathmandu – Chief Executive Officer of Fonepay, Diwas Sapkota, is set to participate as a speaker in the fourth session of the Third Insurance Discourse 2026. The event is being jointly organized by Banking Samachar and News of Insurance and will be held on Magh 7.

Sapkota will speak in the session titled “Insurtech Innovation: Transforming Insurance into a Lifestyle Necessity in Nepal.” He was previously serving as Assistant CEO at Fonepay and began his career at the company as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining Fonepay, he worked at Nepal Clearing House, and he started his professional career at Everest Bank. He brings over 15 years of experience in digital payments and information technology.

The Third Insurance Discourse, with Reliable Nepal Life as the Title Sponsor, will be held on Magh 7 at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu. The event is powered by Fonepay, Sun Nepal Life, and SuryaJyoti Life. Representatives from regulatory bodies, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, insurance experts, and other distinguished stakeholders are expected to attend.

Key discussion topics at the discourse will include bancassurance: policy, regulation, and market realities; the future roadmap for restructuring and transforming the insurance industry for modern lifestyles; access to healthcare and the future of health insurance in Nepal; and insurtech innovation aimed at integrating insurance into everyday life.

A special session titled “Economics of Insurance” will also be held, featuring Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha.
