The third edition of the National Insurance Discourse 2026 has officially commenced in Kathmandu. The event, being held at the Yak & Yeti Hotel, was inaugurated by Finance Secretary Dr. Ghanashyam Upadhyaya.

Organized jointly by Banking Samachar and News of Insurance, the discourse is regarded as a significant forum for Nepal’s insurance sector. The program has brought together representatives from regulatory bodies, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions, insurance experts, and distinguished personalities from various sectors.

Following the inaugural session, the discourse will feature discussions across four thematic sessions. These include: Bancassurance: Policy, Regulation, and Market Realities; Future Roadmap: Restructuring and Transforming the Insurance Industry for a Modern Lifestyle; Access to Healthcare Services: The Future of Health Insurance in Nepal; and InsurTech Innovation: Transforming Insurance into a Necessity and Lifestyle in Nepal.

After the completion of the thematic sessions, a special session titled “The Economics of Insurance” will be held. The session will feature the presence of Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha.
