Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Limited, Narayan Babu Lohani, has stated that the scope of insurance in Nepal has been expanding in recent times.

Addressing the Third National Insurance Discourse 2026, jointly organized by Banking Samachar and News of Insurance, CEO Lohani pointed out that the insurance sector is witnessing gradual expansion and growing maturity.

He said, “Gradually, insurance-related issues have started to surface and the concerns raised during the discourse are beginning to be addressed. Credit goes to the Ministry of Finance, Nepal Rastra Bank, and the Insurance Authority. In the past, investments were limited mainly to financial instruments. Today, investments are also being made in merchant companies.”

The Third Insurance Discourse, for which Reliable Nepal Life Insurance is the main sponsor, is powered by PhonePe, Sun Nepal Life, and Suryajyoti Life.

The discourse features discussions on key themes including Bancassurance: Policy, Regulation, and Market Reality; Access to Healthcare Services: The Future of Health Insurance in Nepal; InsurTech Innovation: Transforming Insurance into a Necessity and Lifestyle in Nepal; and the Future Roadmap: Restructuring and Transforming the Insurance Industry for a Modern Lifestyle.

Additionally, a special session titled “The Economics of Insurance” will be held, with the participation of Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha.
