NEW YORK — MetLife Foundation announced new recipients of its Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP). Through this program, MetLife Foundation is providing a total of $6.5 million to nonprofits, including in Nepal, working to address essential community needs. By tackling critical issues, the program supports nonprofits that deliver the services and resources people rely on to build financial health and resilience. This reflects MetLife and MetLife Foundation’s long-standing commitment to helping people and communities move forward with greater confidence and access to opportunity.
Launched in 2023, and expanded globally in 2025, The program supports organizations delivering solutions focused on food security, mental health and well-being, environmental sustainability, and vibrant communities. This year’s grants support more than 100 nonprofits worldwide, including:
- Solucham’s AWAKEproject received funding of $110,000 over two years to provide environmental training to more than 3,000 people in Solukhumbu, including programs focused on waste management, tree planting, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
- SOSEC Nepal’s SAFE (Sustainable Agriculture for Food Empowerment)program was supported with $190,000 over a two‑year period to strengthen long‑term food security for farmers, youth, and small businesses through improved agricultural practices, skills development, financial sustainability, and health integration.

As with previous CIGP grants, MetLife employees supported the selection process and volunteered time to review grant applications from nonprofits. Since its launch, the program has awarded more than $9 million to 207 nonprofits, reaching 1.6 million people across the U.S., Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.The program is an important part of MetLife Foundation’s broader commitment to advancing inclusive economic mobility and financial health, and to helping communities where MetLife operates strengthen resilience and thrive.
