Kathmandu — Guru Prasad Paudel, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), will participate as a speaker at the 4th National Banking Discourse 2026, where he is set to join the first thematic session of the event.
Jointly organized by Banking Samachar and Banking News, the discourse is scheduled for June 10 (Jestha 27). Paudel will speak in the opening panel discussion titled “How Long Will Money Continue to Accumulate in Banks? How Can Business Confidence Be Strengthened?”
With more than two decades of experience at Nepal Rastra Bank, Paudel began his career at the central bank in 2002 as an Assistant Director. Over the past 21 years, he has served in various departments and currently holds the position of Executive Director of the Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation Department.
Academically, Paudel holds an MPhil in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Tribhuvan University. He has also participated in numerous international training programs and seminars to further enhance his professional expertise.
The 4th National Banking Discourse 2026 will feature a series of high-level discussions on major issues confronting Nepal’s financial sector. Topics include strengthening business confidence and mobilizing excess liquidity, expanding investment in agriculture through cooperation among banks, the government and the private sector, the future of banking in the era of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and fintech, and the sustainability of development banks amid evolving competition and regulatory frameworks.
