TU Teaching Hospital to Resume Health Insurance Services After Five and a Half Months

Banking News— Tribhuvan University (TU) Teaching Hospital is set to resume its Health Insurance Programme from Asar 15 (June 29, 2026), more than five months after suspending the service.

In a public notice, the hospital announced that only outpatient department (OPD) services will be available under the health insurance programme during the initial phase of the resumption.

The hospital administration has also fixed the schedule for issuing insurance OPD tickets. Beneficiaries can collect their insurance tickets from the designated insurance ticket counter between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and again from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Patients seeking additional information or assistance regarding health insurance services have been requested to contact the hospital’s Health Insurance and Social Security Unit.

The health insurance programme at TU Teaching Hospital had been suspended since Magh 1, 2082 (mid-January 2026) after the hospital cited prolonged delays in claim reimbursements by the Health Insurance Board. Following more than five and a half months of suspension, the hospital has now decided to reinstate the service.

The resumption of the programme is expected to provide relief to insured patients who rely on the hospital for affordable outpatient healthcare services.
