Fire in Mechinagar Causes Property Damage Worth Rs. 1.6 Million


Banking News— A fire that broke out late Tuesday night in Mechinagar caused property damage estimated at Rs. 1.6 million, according to police.

The fire occurred at the two-room house of Purna Chandra Rijal in Bhawana Chowk, Ward No. 3 of Mechinagar Municipality. The house, constructed of brick and wood with a corrugated metal roof, was extensively damaged in the blaze.

Police said the fire destroyed household utensils, clothing, food grains, Rs. 50,000 in cash, and approximately half a tola of gold. A cattle shed attached to the house was also destroyed.

The fire was brought under control with the assistance of a fire engine from Mechinagar Municipality, personnel from the Nepal Police, and local residents.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and authorities are investigating the incident.
