Banking News — Residents in Humla District have flocked to the local office of the Food Management and Trading Company Limited following the launch of subsidized rice sales.

The state-owned company has begun distributing 2,000 quintals of rice at subsidized prices, prompting a sharp increase in the number of customers visiting its Simkot office.
According to Kailash Aidi, the surge in demand is driven by the availability of subsidized rice rather than an immediate shortage of food among local households.
The company is selling Steam Jeera Fine Rice at Rs. 1,850 per quintal, Aruwa Sona Mansuli Rice at Rs. 1,250 per quintal, and Aruwa Coarse Rice at Rs. 1,150 per quintal.
The company said it recorded Rs. 6 million in sales during the first two days of the distribution program, with a total of 588 quintals of rice sold over the period.
