Banking News — The Supreme Court of Nepal is scheduled to hear a habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of former Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel.

The petition has been listed for hearing before a joint bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Nityananda Pandey.

The writ was filed by Poudel’s wife, Domaya Poudel. In an earlier hearing, the Supreme Court ordered the relevant case files to be produced before the court. The directive was issued by a joint bench of Justices Tek Prasad Dhungana and Megh Raj Pokharel.

During a hearing on June 25 (Asar 11, 2083 BS), Justice Shrikanta Poudel also issued a show-cause order in connection with the petition.

Poudel was arrested in Surkhet on June 22 (Asar 8, 2083 BS) on allegations related to a money laundering offense.
