Two Arrested in Connection with Robbery of Pedestrian in Kathmandu


Banking News – Police have arrested two individuals on charges of robbing a pedestrian in Kathmandu earlier this year.

The suspects have been identified as Ankit Raj Giri and Roman Tamang.

According to police, the incident occurred on the night of Baisakh 5 (April 18, 2026), when two men riding a motorcycle allegedly assaulted a pedestrian traveling toward Pepsicola from Jadibuti in Ward No. 32 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City before fleeing with a gold ring, cash, and a mobile phone.

A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Ankit Raj Giri from the Civil Hospital area in Kathmandu-32, while Roman Tamang was apprehended from Kaushaltar in Ward No. 3 of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

The suspects have been handed over to the Kathmandu District Police Range for further investigation and legal proceedings.
