Indian National Arrested with Suspected Counterfeit Currency in Kapilvastu


Banking News – Police have arrested an Indian national after he was allegedly found carrying suspected counterfeit Indian currency in Kapilvastu.

The suspect has been identified as Kartik Gupta, a resident of Balrampur, India.

According to police, the arrest followed a report that counterfeit Indian banknotes had been used while paying a food bill at Hotel Hyper in Shivpur, Ward No. 1 of Shivaraj Municipality. Acting on the information, a police team from the Chandrauta Ward Police Office detained Gupta for questioning.

During the search, officers recovered six suspected counterfeit Indian banknotes of INR 500 denomination from his possession.

Police have taken Gupta into custody at the Chandrauta Ward Police Office, where further investigation into the case is underway.
