Banking News – The Armed Police Force (APF) Security Base at Danda, located along the Nepal–India border, has seized goods worth more than NPR 17.06 million over the past two months and handed them over to the Bhairahawa Customs Office.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Gopi Krishna Bhattarai, chief of the security base, goods valued at NPR 17,061,146 were confiscated between May 22 and July 10 after they were illegally brought into Nepal from India by evading customs duties.

The seized items included garments, hardware products, cosmetic items, fruits, beverages, grocery goods, machinery, and other merchandise.

Bhattarai said the successful seizures were made possible through regular border patrols, inspections, intelligence gathering, and close coordination with other government agencies. He added that recent efforts have significantly helped curb drug trafficking, smuggling, customs revenue leakage, and other illegal cross-border activities.

He also noted that regular interactions and coordination with local residents, business communities, customs agents, transport operators, journalists, and other stakeholders have strengthened border security and improved the effectiveness of law enforcement in the Danda border area.
