Landless Communities Urge Government to Resolve Housing and Land Ownership Issues

Banking News – The United National Landless People’s Front Nepal has called on the government to take immediate and effective measures to resolve the longstanding problems faced by landless and squatter communities across the country.

Representatives of landless families who were recently relocated from riverbanks in the Kathmandu Valley to safer locations gathered at Maitighar Mandala on Sunday, urging the government to ensure them legal ownership of land.

The demonstrators appealed to the authorities to implement a permanent solution by providing land ownership certificates and secure housing for landless citizens, stating that long-term rehabilitation is essential to protect their livelihoods and dignity.

The gathering also called on the government to expedite the land management process and fulfill its commitment to addressing the concerns of landless families through sustainable and lawful resettlement measures.
