Banking News – The Finance Committee of Nepal’s House of Representatives has directed the Nepal Insurance Authority to submit a comprehensive report within 10 days following discussions on the authority’s performance and the country’s insurance sector.

During a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the committee reviewed the major activities carried out by the Nepal Insurance Authority during the fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS).
The discussion focused on policy and operational challenges in insurance regulation, efforts to protect the interests of policyholders, initiatives to reduce risks in the insurance business, and the three-year performance of state-owned insurance corporations and companies. The committee also reviewed the Insurance Authority’s role in improving the performance of these institutions.
According to Committee Secretary Laxman Aryal, Finance Committee Chair Dr. Krishna Hari Budhathoki instructed the authority to prepare a detailed report incorporating the discussions and concerns raised by committee members during the meeting.
The report is required to be submitted to the Finance Committee within 10 days for further review and follow-up.
