Kathmandu Traffic Police Collect Over Rs. 11.4 Million in Fines Within a Week


Banking News – The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police took action against 10,490 motorists and traffic rule violators in just one week, collecting more than Rs. 11.4 million in fines.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, the enforcement campaign was carried out between July 6 and July 12, 2026 (Asar 22–28, 2083 BS).

The traffic police penalized motorists for a range of violations, including drunk driving, unauthorized ride-sharing operations, running red lights, overspeeding, lane violations, driving on footpaths, violating no-horn zones, and driving in one-way streets.

The police said the week-long enforcement drive resulted in the collection of Rs. 11.4 million in fines, reaffirming its commitment to improving road safety, traffic discipline, and compliance with traffic regulations across the Kathmandu Valley.
