Banking News – Nepal Police has clarified that traffic police officers do not receive any special allowance, incentive, or additional benefit for issuing fines to motorists who violate traffic regulations.

In a press statement issued by Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Binod Narayan Kafle, the police stated that all revenue collected from traffic fines is deposited directly into the Government of Nepal’s revenue account and is not distributed to traffic personnel.
The statement emphasized that there is no legal provision allowing traffic police officers to receive any extra payment or benefits for imposing fines. It further noted that the circulation of unverified and misleading reports can undermine public trust in state institutions and unnecessarily create controversy around administrative procedures.
“There is no legal provision for traffic police personnel to receive any additional fee or benefit for issuing traffic fines,” the statement said.
Nepal Police also urged media organizations and social media users to verify facts with the concerned authorities before publishing or broadcasting news, stressing the importance of responsible and accurate dissemination of information.
