Banking News – Kathmandu: An engineer working at Chulachuli Rural Municipality in Ilam has been arrested by Nepal’s anti-graft authority after allegedly accepting a Rs. 600,000 bribe.

According to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Engineer (Sixth Level) Dilliraj Khadka was apprehended by a joint team from the CIAA’s Itahari Office and its central office in Tangal.
Authorities said Khadka allegedly demanded the bribe from a service recipient in exchange for facilitating the approval of a bridge redesign and assisting with the contract payment process.
The CIAA arrested him red-handed while receiving Rs. 600,000 at a snack shop in Damak Municipality-9, Jhapa.
Further investigation into the bribery case is currently underway.
