Mahalaxmi Development Bank Completes Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives Across Nepal


Banking News – Mahalaxmi Development Bank Limited has successfully carried out a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across Nepal, supporting financial literacy, education, healthcare, disaster management, environmental conservation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development, sustainable development goals, and humanitarian activities.

As part of its CSR program, the bank provided financial assistance for the construction of modern toilet facilities for female students through various Rotary Clubs at Shree Prithvi Secondary School in Jhapa, Shree Salyan Sukhoura Secondary School in Baglung, Shree Banshagopal Basic School in Hetauda, and Shree Navadurga Basic School in Gaindakot, Chitwan, with the aim of ensuring safe and hygienic sanitation facilities for students.

Through its Belauri Branch, the bank also distributed 80 school bags to economically disadvantaged and academically talented students at Shree Krishna Basic School in Shuklaphanta Municipality-1, Kanchanpur. The distribution program was organized on June 26, 2026 (Ashar 12, 2083) to support students in their education.

Similarly, the bank donated one laptop to Simara College in Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-2, Bara, through its Simara Branch, to help strengthen the institution’s educational activities and promote technology-enabled learning. The contribution aims to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education.

In another initiative, the bank’s Bajhang Branch provided financial support to Shikshodaya Secondary School in Kedarsyu Rural Municipality-4, Bajhang, to purchase thermometers, blood pressure monitors, first-aid kits, stretchers, and sports equipment for the school’s adolescent-friendly information center.

The bank also donated 10 dustbins to Shree Bhairavnath Temple in Ribdikot Rural Municipality-4, Palpa, one of Nepal’s largest religious sites, to improve waste management and environmental cleanliness.

Additionally, through its Hetauda Branch, the bank supported the construction of a safe drinking water facility equipped with a reverse osmosis (RO) system at Shree National Secondary School in Bhimfedi-1, Makwanpur, promoting access to clean and safe drinking water.

Furthermore, as part of its CSR commitment, the bank provided a digital smart board to Shree Nepal National Primary School in Chandrapur-10, Rautahat, contributing to the enhancement of digital education and modern classroom learning.
