Nine Arrested, Including Four Foreign Nationals, in Pokhara Theft Ring


Banking NewsNepal Police have arrested nine individuals, including four foreign nationals, for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts in Pokhara, with legal proceedings now underway, according to the Kaski District Police Office.

Those arrested include Indian nationals Rahul Nishad and Somnath Hanumant Jadhav, as well as Chinese nationals Wen Ji and Wang Lanyin, who are accused of participating in multiple theft incidents across different parts of Pokhara.

Police also detained Rajkumar Bik (42) of Chapakot, Syangja, Keshav Paija Magar (51) of Pokhara Metropolitan City-16, Khim Bahadur Chhetri of Annapurna Rural Municipality-7, Kaski, Ashok Pokhrel of Bhumikasthan Municipality-3, Arghakhanchi, and Anil Bik (27) of Baglung Municipality-12, Baglung.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan, police recovered cash, gold, mobile phones, laptops, watches, and other stolen valuables from the suspects.

The accused have been remanded into custody by the Kaski District Court for investigation under theft and robbery charges. Police said the arrests followed a detailed investigation into a series of theft incidents that had recently occurred in various parts of Pokhara.
