Indian National Arrested in Rautahat with Unaccounted Cash


Banking NewsNepal Police have arrested an Indian national in Rautahat after recovering unaccounted cash worth NPR 550,000 and INR 4,280 during a security check near the Gaur Customs Office.

The arrested individual has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Jaiswal (62), a resident of Bairgania, Sitamarhi, India.

According to police, Jaiswal was travelling in an auto-rickshaw from India to Nepal when a joint security team, including customs security personnel, stopped and searched the vehicle. During the inspection, officers recovered the cash, for which he was unable to provide a satisfactory source.

Police have taken Jaiswal into custody, and further investigation is underway into the origin of the seized funds.
