Banking News – The Patan High Court resolved 11,468 cases during the fiscal year 2082/83, disposing of a significant portion of its total case backlog of 16,139 cases.

The court also succeeded in reducing the number of cases pending for more than two years and more than 18 months to zero. Only 353 cases older than one year remain pending, according to court officials.

Chief Judge Lal Bahadur Kunwar said the achievement was made in line with the Judiciary’s Fifth Five-Year Strategic Plan, emphasizing that the court had successfully eliminated all pending cases older than 18 months.

“We have given special priority to cases related to development projects and revenue collection,” Chief Judge Kunwar said.

The Patan High Court has already disposed of 740 cases in the current fiscal year, while 12 detention-related cases pending for more than one year remain unresolved.

Among the district courts under its jurisdiction, Sindhupalchok District Court recorded the highest case disposal rate at 77.4%, followed by Rasuwa District Court at 75.6%. Kathmandu District Court recorded the lowest disposal rate at 42.3%.
