Banking News – Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police took action against 4,266 motorists and traffic rule violators in just one week, collecting Rs. 7.36 million in fines through intensified enforcement.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, the enforcement campaign was carried out between Asar 29 and Shrawan 3 (one week) targeting motorists who violated various traffic regulations.

Police penalized drivers for offences including driving under the influence of alcohol (drink-driving), unauthorized ride-sharing operations, running red lights, speeding, lane violations, driving on footpaths, unnecessary use of horns in no-horn zones, and travelling on one-way roads.

The week-long enforcement campaign generated a total of Rs. 7.36 million in fines, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office said, adding that such operations will continue to improve road safety and ensure greater compliance with traffic regulations.
