Banking News – Nepal has recorded below-average rainfall so far in July, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), despite the ongoing active monsoon season.

The Department said the country typically receives an average of 558.8 millimetres of rainfall during July, but only 304.30 millimetres has been recorded so far.

According to the DHM, rainfall was recorded at 372 of the country’s 414 monitoring stations over the past 24 hours, with the nationwide average precipitation during the period measured at 11.7 millimetres.

The highest rainfall in the past 24 hours was recorded in Patharkot, Kapilvastu, where 167.0 millimetres of rain was measured.

Meanwhile, the highest temperature was recorded at 35.7 degrees Celsius in Manthali, Ramechhap, while the lowest temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius in Humde, Manang.

According to DHM meteorologist David Dhakal, the monsoon remains active across the country, and rainfall is expected to continue in various regions. The Department has warned that some hilly and Tarai areas may experience moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, urging the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
