Woman Arrested for Allegedly Defrauding Victim of Rs. 1.7 Million with False UK Employment Promise


Banking News – Nepal Police have arrested a woman on charges of defrauding a job seeker of Rs. 1.7 million by falsely promising employment opportunities in the United Kingdom.

The accused, Pooja Shahi, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-17, was arrested from Maitighar, Kathmandu, police said.

According to the investigation, Shahi allegedly collected Rs. 1.7 million from a victim after promising to arrange employment in the UK but failed to deliver on the commitment.

Police have launched further investigations into the case to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud and whether additional victims may have been affected.
