Banking News – The Inland Revenue Office in Tulsipur collected more than Rs. 4.30 billion in revenue during the fiscal year 2025/26, achieving 85.21 percent of its annual revenue target.

According to Revenue Officer Upendra Pun, the office collected Rs. 4.306 billion during the fiscal year against an annual target of Rs. 5.053 billion.

The revenue collection comprised:

• Income Tax: Rs. 2.388 billion
• Value Added Tax (VAT): Rs. 1.002 billion
• Excise Duty: Rs. 772.69 million
• Other Revenue: Rs. 143.45 million

Despite falling short of its annual target, the office recorded an 8.93 percent increase in revenue collection compared to the previous fiscal year.

The Tulsipur Inland Revenue Office serves nearly 100,000 taxpayers across the districts of Dang, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Salyan, East Rukum, and West Rukum.

The office continued providing public services despite significant damage caused during the Gen Z movement, when its office building, vehicles, and official documents were destroyed by fire. For a period, services were operated from the Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while the office is currently functioning from a rented facility at the Trisiddheshwar Temple Dharamshala.

To strengthen taxpayer awareness and compliance, the office conducted 18 tax awareness and training programs at various locations during the fiscal year.

Revenue Officer Pun also stated that during FY 2025/26, the office issued 4,295 Business Permanent Account Numbers (PANs), 28,380 Individual PANs, and processed the registration and renewal of 4,922 excise licenses.
