Banking News – Nepal Police have arrested two individuals on charges of defrauding unemployed youths of Rs. 1.57 million by falsely promising overseas employment opportunities in Cambodia and New Zealand.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Hari Bahadur Pant of Dhading and Amrit Magar of Sindhuli.

According to police, Hari Bahadur Pant allegedly collected Rs. 500,000 from two victims by promising to send them to Cambodia for employment. Similarly, Amrit Magar is accused of defrauding one victim of Rs. 1.07 million with a false promise of arranging employment in New Zealand.

Police arrested the suspects from different locations within the Kathmandu Valley.

The two have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal proceedings, police said.
