Banking News – The Sudurpashchim Province Police Office has named Assistant Head Constable Prakash Singh Mahara as “Police of the Month” for the month of Asar 2083 BS, recognizing his exceptional bravery and dedication to duty.

According to police, 36-year-old Karan Koli of Dharampani, Ward No. 8, Malikarjun Rural Municipality, Darchula, and his 26-year-old wife, Bimala Koli, were returning home from Khalanga Bazaar when an argument broke out between the couple near Joljibi, Ward No. 7 of Malikarjun Rural Municipality.

During the dispute, Bimala Koli reportedly jumped into the Mahakali River, prompting an emergency report to the Joljibi Police Post.

Upon receiving the information, Assistant Head Constable Prakash Singh Mahara, who was on duty at the police post, immediately rushed to the scene. Ignoring the risk to his own life, he jumped into the Mahakali River and successfully rescued Bimala Koli.

In recognition of his courage, professionalism, and outstanding humanitarian service, the Sudurpashchim Province Police Office declared Mahara as the “Police of the Month” for **Asar 2083 BS.
