Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle Visits Inland Revenue Department to Review Revenue Collection Readiness


Banking News – Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle conducted an on-site inspection of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, on Thursday to assess the department’s preparedness for implementing the new national budget and achieving the government’s revenue collection targets.

During the visit, Dr. Wagle received a detailed briefing from department officials on the implementation strategy for the FY 2026/27 (FY 2083/84 BS) budget and the measures being taken to meet the revenue goals outlined in the budget.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle and Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya addressed officials from the department and its offices across the country, instructing them to strengthen revenue administration, improve tax compliance, and work effectively toward achieving the government’s revenue targets.

Director General of the Inland Revenue Department, Bhishma Kumar Bhusal, presented an overview of the department’s organizational structure, revenue collection targets, and operational preparations for the current fiscal year.
