Banking News – The Rastriya Banijya Bank Employees’ Union Nepal celebrated its 37th anniversary on Wednesday with a series of commemorative events.

The anniversary program was inaugurated by Rastriya Banijya Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) Binaya Raman Poudel at a special ceremony.

Presiding over the event, Union President Rabindra Prasad Chaulagain urged the bank’s management to address the legitimate concerns and demands raised by employees while calling on staff members to continue contributing toward improving and simplifying service delivery.

Speaking at the event, Rastriya Banijya Bank DCEO Pawan Regmi, Dharma Raj Mainali, President of the National Committee of the Bank, Insurance and Financial Sector Employees’ Union Nepal, Laxmi Prasad Pandey, Chair of the Union’s Advisory Committee and former President, Sudin K.C., President of the Nepal Financial Institutions Employees’ Union–Rastriya Banijya Bank, and Chudamani Gupta, Acting President of the Nepal National Employees’ Organization–Rastriya Banijya Bank, extended their best wishes.

The program featured extensive discussions on protecting employees’ professional rights, strengthening the institution, and making banking services more efficient and accessible. The union also marked the anniversary through various programs organized by its provincial committees.

As part of the celebrations, a blood donation drive held on Shrawan 1 saw the participation of 70 employees, while around 300 employees received services through a health camp and eye, ear, and ENT screening program.

During the event, the Lumbini Provincial Committee was awarded a running shield in recognition of its outstanding performance evaluation.

To commemorate the anniversary, the union also organized an essay competition on the theme “The Role of the 68 Unions in Institutional Development and Protecting Professional Rights.” Ramesh Khadka secured first place, Januka Kumari Nyaupane finished second, and Laxman Poudel placed third. The winners received prizes and certificates from the chief guest.

The program was hosted by Union General Secretary Rishi Ram Gyawali, while Senior Vice President Kabiraj Baral delivered the welcome remarks.

The event was attended by former union presidents, leaders of various enterprise-level trade unions, the bank’s chief executive officers, deputy chief executive officers, assistant executive officers, department heads, deputy department heads, branch managers, union office bearers, and a large number of employees.
