Banking News – Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav inspected Surya Gas Industry and Sagarmatha Gas Industry in Nala, Kavrepalanchok, following growing complaints from consumers over an acute shortage of LPG cylinders in the market.

During the inspection, LPG industry operators informed the minister that gas supply remains normal and that there has been no disruption in imports or distribution. They claimed the apparent shortage was caused by consumers purchasing and stockpiling more LPG cylinders than required, creating an artificial scarcity in the market.

In response, Minister Yadav directed gas industries and distributors to prioritize the supply of LPG for household use over commercial consumption to ensure that domestic consumers are not affected by shortages.

The minister also emphasized the need for smooth distribution, effective supply management, and preventing unnecessary panic buying to maintain an uninterrupted supply of cooking gas across the market.
